Van Kam Freightways Launches Employee Donation Matching Program

Van Kam Freightways is excited to announce the launch of our Employee Donation Matching Program. The Employee Donation Matching Program is a new initiative that allows all Van Kam employees to donate to a registered charity of their choice and Van Kam will match their donations… dollar for dollar. This program is a simple and effective way for our employees to positively impact their community. It also fits hand-in-hand with Van Kam’s Purpose Statement of “Uniting Communities & Improving Lives.”

Why Is Van Kam Implementing This Program?

Since 1947, Van Kam has helped build this province kilometre by kilometre by providing communities with the essential service of freight delivery for goods necessary to function in our daily lives. As we want to continue developing the communities where we operate, we understand the importance of giving back to communities and specific causes our employees are passionate about. By implementing this program, Van Kam hopes to foster a sense of engagement and commitment among our employees where they work and live.

How Does It Work?

The process of donating is straightforward. Employees choose a registered charity and get it approved before donating. Van Kam will then provide our employees with the required steps to submit their donation, and Van Kam will match their donation as soon as the confirmation of the employee donation is received.

We encourage our employees to research and choose a charity that aligns with their values and interests. This will ensure their donation goes to an organization they genuinely care about and believe in.

Impact of the Program

Van Kam is always looking for ways to unite our “work-family” team through events like company lunches, month-end birthday celebrations, ticket giveaways to special events, and other similar programs. Beyond these initiatives, as evidenced by our recent Christmas Toy/Food Drive last December, we are proud that our team comes together for charitable causes. As such, we trust our employees will participate in the Employee Donation Matching Program, which should significantly impact the charities our employees care about.
