The Teamsters Local 213 Charity Golf Tournament tees off in Penticton on September 19, 2026, and every dollar raised goes to Special Olympics. Special Olympics gives athletes with intellectual disabilities a place to train, compete, and belong, and events like this one keep those programs running.
We signed on as a Gold sponsor, proud to stand with an industry that comes together for a cause like this.
Special Olympics BC runs year-round training and competition for athletes with intellectual disabilities, from local programs in small towns to provincial and national games. Coaches, equipment, facility time, and travel all cost money, and most of it comes from community fundraising. A tournament like this one is a real part of how that gets paid for.
Teamsters Local 213 represents thousands of members across British Columbia, and our drivers are among them. Most of what a union and an employer do together happens in meetings and contract talks, and that work matters, but it is not the whole picture. A day like this reminds us that we want a lot of the same things. Good work for our drivers, a strong industry, and communities in this province that look after the people in them.
Sponsorships like this one are not complicated. The money raised gives athletes a season, and an industry that spends most of its time hauling freight gets a day to do something else for the community. That is worth showing up for.
