December is here, and we have already taken part in a few community initiatives as the month begins. The season always picks up quickly, so here is an update on what we have been involved in so far. Each initiative has its own purpose, and together they mark the start of our holiday season.
Our donation to Union Gospel Mission this season is made in memory of Robert Henry. He cared deeply about helping others, and supporting UGM reflects that part of who he was. It is a thoughtful way to honour him and help people who rely on UGM’s services during the colder months.

We’re part of the 2025 edition of The Hospital Activity Book for Children, a publication created for kids who are spending time in hospitals during the holidays and throughout the year. These books go straight into the hands of children who could use something steady and comforting, offering drawings, activities, and quiet moments of distraction. It is one of the small initiatives we value because it reaches kids right when they need a lift.

Sleep Out Vancouver happens this season through Covenant House Vancouver. We supported the initiative again because it shines a light on youth facing homelessness and the need for a safe place to turn. The event encourages people to give up their beds for one night to raise awareness and support. It is a simple gesture with a strong message.

We closed out November at the Surrey Santa Parade of Lights in Cloverdale, Surrey, BC, on November 30. The parade took place in Cloverdale, and our truck was on the route this year as families lined the streets to take in the start of the holiday run. Some of our team members were there as well, taking part in the evening and enjoying the atmosphere along the route. It was a good way to head into December and a reminder of how much the community looks forward to this night each year.
