When families face the challenge of having a seriously ill child in the hospital, small comforts can make a big difference. That’s why Van Kam recently teamed up with Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon to support their Family Meals Program. Along with a donation, our team spent an evening volunteering to prepare a warm meal for families who call the house their temporary home.
Ronald McDonald House provides families with a welcoming place to stay when their child receives treatment far from home. While their children receive medical care, parents and siblings can stay close, share meals, and find support in a compassionate community that helps them navigate difficult moments. This aligns with our CARE value of supporting the communities we serve. We’re proud to stand behind such an important cause that gives parents the space to focus on what matters most: their children.
As part of the Family Meals Program, Van Kam volunteers stepped into the kitchen on Tuesday, November 26th, from 3 pm to 7:30 pm, to cook and serve dinner for families staying at the house. We chopped, stirred, and plated, working together to create a nice, home-cooked meal for 138 people. It was a simple but meaningful way to support families during a tough time. Sharing good food and good company reminded us how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
Supporting Ronald McDonald House is one way we show our commitment to the communities we serve. Whether through donations, volunteering, or simply lending a hand, know that small actions can make a big difference.
