Mark Weber Celebrates Five Years at Van Kam

December 19, 2025

Mark Weber, Van Kam’s North American Customer Care Specialist, recently reached his five-year anniversary with the company. Working from our Milton, ON office, he supports corporate customers across North America. His easygoing style and attention to detail have made him a trusted contact for many of our customers.

From Aviation Filtration to Van Kam

Mark spent his early career in the aviation filtration industry, a field where precision and strict standards guide everything. The work taught him to pay attention to detail and stay consistent in how he supports people. “I gained valuable experience in customer service and inside sales,” he says. I managed accounts, prepared quotes, processed orders, and made sure clients had what they needed when they needed it,” he continues.

On The Line And In The Loop

Today, Mark handles day-to-day support for many of our North American corporate customers. He is the person they reach out to for shipment updates, delivery questions, and quick solutions when something needs attention. “I help customers get the information they need as clearly as possible,” he says. He stays connected with our operations and terminal teams so the right details move quickly and customers feel confident about the status of their shipments.

Five Years In The Making

Reaching five years at Van Kam stands out to Mark because of the growth, trust, and steady confidence he has built along the way. He remembers arriving without much knowledge of the LTL (less-than-truckload freight shipping) world and finding a team that helped him settle in and learn the work piece by piece. The relationships he has formed since then are what give the milestone its meaning. “I’m proud of this milestone,” he says. “I’ve learned a lot, and I’ve always felt valued here, not just for the work I do, but for who I am,” he adds.

When Mark first joined Van Kam, he was drawn by the company’s reputation for reliability, but it was the people who made the biggest impression. He found a team that welcomed him, supported him, and helped him learn a new industry without hesitation. “The family feel here is real,” he says. “People are willing to help, and everyone wants you to succeed.” That sense of connection is a big part of why the role has continued to feel right for him.

From Game Nights To Good Bites

Mark has a real love for tabletop games and the worlds they create. Board games, Magic: The Gathering, and Dungeons and Dragons are all a big part of how he spends his time. “I enjoy the mix of strategy, creativity, and the social side of it,” he says. The games give him a chance to unwind, think in new ways, and connect with friends and family. His collection has grown to nearly two hundred games over the years, each one tied to a memory or a night spent at the table.

Away from gaming, he enjoys cooking and trying out new recipes. He even made a small cooking show during COVID called Mark’s Making Something on Monday, which became a fun way to stay in touch with friends and family. When he wants a quieter reset, he turns to books like the Dungeon Crawler Carl series or heads to the beach for a swim and some calm time by the water.

Closing The Book On Year Five

As Mark steps into his next year at Van Kam, he looks at the people and moments that made the work meaningful. The support he found when he joined and the relationships he has built since are what stand out the most. “It has been a meaningful journey. I’m thankful for the team around me and glad to be part of it,” he concludes.
