The people who work here are the reason any of this runs, and every September we stop to say so properly. This year we rolled into our terminals with food trucks, fresh merch, and a whole lot of thank-yous out to every terminal.
The timing lined up with National Trucking Week in early September, so we started there and kept going. We also sent Van Kam hats to the BC Trucking Association for their driver bags, which reach drivers across the province, not just ours.
Every load that goes out has a lot of hands on it. Drivers out on the road, dock workers loading and unloading, mechanics in the shop, dispatchers building the runs, and the office sorting out everything that comes with it. It’s easy for all of that to happen quietly, so we set aside a day at each terminal to say thank you where everyone can hear it.

Surrey started us off on September 10 with a pizza truck parked in the yard from six in the morning to six at night, and ice cream to go with it. From there it moved up and down the province through the rest of the month, terminal by terminal, right through to Castlegar at the end of September. Breakfast grills, burgers off the griddle, brisket, mac and cheese, and more desserts than anyone will admit to eating.

To everyone who came out, thank you. Not just for showing up in September, but for the work you do the rest of the year, in every yard and every cab and every office. Thanks as well to the terminal managers and the Talent and Culture team who planned these days and got them running.
We also had some good help along the way. Little Devils Pizza, Rainbow Ice Cream, and Fryers’ Food Truck. Thank you to everyone who cooked, catered, and kept the food coming across all our terminals this month.
